In my first children’s book, The Bunny Poets, Bonny and Percy, take a picnic lunch to the meadow. Percy brings along his journal so he can write a poem. Bonny wants to write one too, but she’s not sure how. Together they explore the sights, sounds, scents and scenery that inspire their words.
In my next book, The Bunny Poets and the Library Book, the two hop downtown to the library in search of inspiration for a new poem. Just like in my first book, a poem is included in the story about their adventure.
My illustrator, Sandy Ferguson Fuller, and I have been exchanging emails with images of her work. It’s so much fun to see the story come to life with her beautifully crafted scenes and characters.
Here’s a little mystery for you. At the library, guess what famous author helps them generate ideas? Share your answers in the comments below. I’ll let you know if you are right. The Bunny Poets and the Library Book will be released this spring. Stay tuned for more updates.

Just guessing, does Mrs. Mac Gregor help them?
Barbara, you’re amazing. Please let me know How I can buy a book when it’s released. I want to donate one to the Hendersonville, NC library.

Sorry, Mrs. Mac Gregor is not the answer, or Beatrix Potter. Check back in again to hear more updates and I’ll reveal the correct answer. Till then hoppy reading!

Great sharing of sneak peek. Looking forward to reading about Bonny and Percy’s adventure! I love the library! Great setting!
I’m anticipating the words from your bunny poets. Love the illustration including the backpacks. Shows the bunnies are serious.
Is Roald Dahl the author who helps the bunnies in the library?
Hi Marilyn: Thanks for the kind words and the guess. Roald Dahl is not the correct children’s book author, although he’s certainly an inspiration and famous. Keep guessing till my next post when I’ll be revealing the answer.
I’m so excited Barb, for this next book! I love the illustration!
